| This 18” wearable necklace (99.180HD) combines three different styles of Precolumbian beads found in the world-known El Bolo River area of Colombia. All attributed to the Calima horizon, dating c.100BC-400AD, the beads (all in the 22-23K range) are in perfect condition and represent some of the best examples of ancient gold working art from the New World. Both the football shaped beads and the reverse bi-cone beads were made by the lost wax process. The small barrel shaped beads were made by the granulation technique, sandwiching four small gold balls between two gold disks. These beautiful beads are strung on contemporary flexible twisted steel wire that is secured by a modern 14K gold clasp. The necklace comes with a small display card, a map of Colombia highlighting the El Bolo River area, and a certificate guaranteeing authenticity. | |||||||
