| Assembled from beads and pendants found in the Calima cultural area in the middle Cauca valley of western Colombia and dating c.500BC-1200AD, this wearable necklace (PBF202) incorporates the following elements: 34 one-half inch long hammered and rolled 14K sheet gold tube beads; 46 disk-shaped brick red ceramic separator beads; two one-inch long 14K gold avian pendants produced by ancient goldsmiths using the lost wax casting technique; and a tiny but superb 11mm long, pop-eyed 20-22K seated gold frog. The beads and pendants are in overall very good condition with one end of three of the gold tube beads having minor damage which causes them to be slightly misaligned. Strung on bead chord and closed with a modern 18K gold clasp, the necklace comes with a descriptive card for display, a map of Colombia high-lighting the Calima area, and our certificate guaranteeing authenticity. Select or ask any question by referring either to the Trocadero Item Number at the top of this page, or to the Inventory Number shown in parentheses in the first sentence of this write-up. NOTE: if you would like to view a large number of our various listings, and at the same time limit your browsing time, try our ‘TWELVE different items on a single page format’ by simply spelling out the word TWELVE in the search box. That will quickly bring up all of our listings that have twelve different items on a page, each individually priced! And if you want to further refine the group, add one or two additional modifiers at the same time such as ‘Indian, Precolumbian, Stone, Pot, Gold, etc.’ Any item that has been sold will be so noted on its photograph. | ||||||||
