| The twelve bead necklaces in this group (TEH 115, 175, 184-187, 190, and 195-199) are all from the estate of the late Chester Howard, founder of the Colorado Mineral Society. This group includes beads traded in both Africa and North America: chevrons, shell, porcelanites, whitehearts, Hudson’s Bay, Lewis and Clark, and more. The North American beads were collected in the Plateau area of the US, California, Northwest Coast, etc. They range in age from the 18th century to the 20th century. Prices for the necklaces range from $75-$350 and the group offers a fine variety for the bead collector, or to a lady looking for a casual and colorful necklace to wear. Each necklace or strand is individually priced on its own photo. In addition, our inventory number is shown in brackets, followed by length of the strand, a brief description of the type, and then additional information following until, at the bottom, the price is shown. Select or ask any question by referring first to the Trocadero Item Number on this page, and then to our Inventory Number on the given photograph. Any pieces sold will be so-marked on its photo. A purchase comes with a descriptive card along with a biographical write-up about Chester Howard and his large collection. NOTE: if you would like to view a large number of our various listings, and at the same time limit your browsing time, try our ‘TWELVE different items on a single page format’ by simply spelling out the word TWELVE in the search box. That will quickly bring up all of our listings that have twelve different items on a page, each individually priced and available! And if you want to further refine the group, add one or two additional modifiers at the same time such as ‘Indian, Precolumbian, Stone, Pot, Gold, etc.’ Any item that has been sold will be so noted on its photograph. | |||||||||||||||
