Pre-columbian Gold Armadillo Pendant, Calima
If you’re familiar with the Pre-Columbian Calima gold work of Colombia, you’ll recognize and appreciate another marvelous zoomorphic depiction of their figural artistry in this armadillo pendant (PBF209) dating c.100-1600AD. Even though measuring a diminutive 1” in length, the details noted on this ancient lost wax casting leave no doubt as to what its native creator meant it to represent. Consider either for a wonderful and somewhat whimsical addition to the contemporary lady’s jewelry box, or for an unusual addition to a collection of Pre-Columbian gold. This fine example Pre-Columbian metal-smithing comes with a small display card, a map of Colombia on which the Calima area has been highlighted, and our certificate guaranteeing authenticity. NOTE: if you would like to view a large number of our various listings, and at the same time limit your browsing, try our ‘TWELVE different items on a single page format’ by simply spelling out the word TWELVE in the search box. That will quickly bring up all of our listings that have twelve different items on a page, each individually priced!
