FINE POLISHED STONE CHISEL, EX HOWARD
Measuring 3 ¼” in length, this gracefully shaped, polished, dark greenstone chisel (TEH160) comes without specfic provenance but is believed to be Pre-Columbian in age and was probably found in Mexico by the late Chester Howard. In excellent condition with only a couple of tiny dings on its sharpened bit edge and the corner of its poll, it was most likely used for woodworking and dates somewhere in the period c.300BC-1500AD. The chisel comes with a small display card, a biographical sketch about the late owner who founded the Colorado Mineral Society in the earlier 20th century, and our certificate guaranteeing that it is Pre-Columbian in age. You can see many more items from this old and diverse collection by typing the three letters TEH into the search box on any of the catalog pages. NOTE: if you would like to view a large number of our various other listings, and at the same time limit your browsing time, try our ‘TWELVE different items on a single page format’ by simply spelling out the word TWELVE in the search box. That will quickly bring up all of our listings that have twelve different items on a page, each individually priced and available! Any item that has been sold will be so noted on its photograph.
