ZUNI HANDLED BOWL BY GEORGIANNA HECHILAY
This charming 5 ½” long Zuni student bowl (TEH.120), dating into the mid- to later 20th century, is marked on its base ‘G. Hechilay, 2nd Hour, Georgianna’. Intact and in excellent condition, the choice of pictographs adds delightfully adds to its youthful vibrance. Possibly overseen by Jennie Laate as an instructor (according to one knowledgeable Southwestern collector), this bowl can’t help but adding a bit of whimsy and uniqueness to any collection. From the Chester Howard estate, it comes with a small display card, a biographical sketch about Howard who founded the Colorado Mineral Society in the earlier 20th century, a map of New Mexico highlighting the Zuni area, and our certificate guaranteeing authenticity. You can see many more items from this old and diverse collection by typing the three letters TEH into the search box on any of the catalog pages. NOTE: if you would like to view a large number of our various other listings, and at the same time limit your browsing time, try our ‘TWELVE different items on a single page format’ by simply spelling out the word TWELVE in the search box. That will quickly bring up all of our listings that have twelve different items on a page, each individually priced and available! Any item that has been sold will be so noted on its photograph.
