| This group of twelve photographs illustrates individually priced Pre-Columbian artifacts (AXH Nos. 183R6N1, 234R8N8, 1086, 1425R3N2, 1435R2N1, 1498R4N5, 1566, 2137, 2139, 2332, 2696 and LLL377R4N5), all but one from the estate of the late Dr. Allen Heflin. Ranging in age from Pre-Classic Olmec to Post-Classic Aztec, and dating c.1200BC-1500AD, the various types shown in this group include a figurine, shaman’s casting stone, adorno, needle, ear flare, pendant, flaking tool, nose pin, etc. Each artifact is mounted with water-soluble glue on a small descriptive card identifying the item, its age, and when known, the location where the item was found. Each relic comes with either a copy of the memoriam to Heflin published in the Missouri Archaeological Society Quarterly, or a copy of our biographical sketch telling about both the man and his collection. Also included, when applicable, will be a map highlightig the area where the artifact was found. This opportunity to acquire items from some of the ancient sites in the New World is unique, and the variety, price ($20 to $225) and quality of the carded items will be attractive.
