RATTLE LEGGED TRIPOD SHALLOW BOWL, CHUPICUARO
The profound simplicity and color of the ceramics from the Chupicuaro horizon of Mexico never cease to inspire admiration for the style. Even with one leg glued back in place, this striking bichrome shallow tripod bowl (PES44) pleases the eye like few others can that attempt to impress with busy color and design. From the Bryan Safe estate, the 6 ½” wide red-on-orange bowl dates c.500BC-1AD and is attributed to a site that now rests at the bottom of a reservoir. The highly burnished beauty comes with a small display card, a biographical sketch about the late owner, a map of Mexico highlighting the location of the now immersed site of Chupicuaro, and our certificate guaranteeing authenticity. NOTE: if you would like to view a large number of our various listings, and at the same time limit your browsing, try our ‘TWELVE different items on a single page format’ by simply spelling out the word TWELVE in the search box. That will quickly bring up all of our listings that have twelve different items on a page, each individually priced!
