| The twelve individually priced ceramic artifacts in this group (PES 1, 3, 5, 8-11, 13-16 and 20) are all fragments from larger Pre-Columbian pieces representing Mexican horizons dating from the Pre-Classic to the Post Classic Periods, c.300BC-1500AD. A varied group, mostly from West Mexico, some are mounted on wood block stands while others will rest freely in your hand. Anthropomorphic and zoomorphic forms (dog, jaguar and bird), the prices range from $35-$450 with only two of the fragments priced higher than $75. This interesting group aptly reflects the late Brian Safe’s budding but well directed interests in prehistoric art. Each photo shows first our inventory number in brackets followed by a brief description and then my grade estimate in brackets. Follows its size, the location, the approximate age and then the cultural horizon. Last are any special notes and the price of the pictured item. Each artifact comes with a small display card, a biographical sketch of Brian Safe, when applicable a map of the area in which the artifact was found, and our certificate guaranteeing authenticity. Select or ask any question by referring first to the Trocadero Item Number on this page, and then to our Inventory Number shown on the given photograph. NOTE: if you would like to view a large number of our various listings, and at the same time limit your browsing, try our ‘TWELVE different items on a single page format’ by simply spelling out the word TWELVE in the search box. That will quickly bring up all of our listings that have twelve different items on a page, each individually priced! | |||||||||||||||
