| From the extensive Cas Jamroz collection, over 500 arrowheads and artifacts were found at sites in the vicinity of Temple, Texas during the period 1967 through the late 1970s. As each artifact was found, Cas marked it with a small numbered tag (visible in the photos but not always legible at the scale shown) and maintained a detailed catalog in which he listed the artifacts and included his identification of point type, age, size, and grade. Note that Cas once had glued all of his artifacts to large ‘pictures’ that he designed with Indian-related themes to decorate his home. When he moved to Colorado, he had to disassemble the pictures due to their size and found it necessary to employ a solvent to remove the insoluble glue he had used to attach them, thus causing most of the points to look very clean. Be assured, however, that all are authentic…and each is fully guaranteed (should any be submitted for authentication, the authenticator should be advised of the use of the solvent). Cas was awarded ‘best show display’ at the 2004 STONE AGE FAIR sponsored by the LOVELAND ARCHAEOLOGICAL SOCIETY in Loveland, Colorado. Among the variety of points Cas identifies in his collection are: Abasalo, Adena, Agate Basin, Alba, Angostura, Bascom, Bassett, Bonham, Bulverde, Carrolton, Castroville, Clifton, Clovis, Conejo, Covington, Dallas, Dalton, Darl, Dawson, Delhi, Dickson, Duran, Ellis, Ensor, Fairland, Fresno, Frio, Gary, Gibson, Golondrina, Guerrero, Hale, Hemphill, Hidden Valley, Hoxie, Jetta, Keota, Kinney, La Jita, Lange, Langtry, Lerma, Livermore, Marcos, Marshal, Matamoros, Merkle, Midland, Motley, Nodena, Palmillas, Pedernales, Perdiz, Plainview, Pogo, Refugio, Sabinal, San Gabriel, Savage Cave, Scallorn, Searcy, Shumla, Starr, Table Rock, Toyah, Travis, Uvalde, Valverde, Wells, Williams, Yarbrough, Young, Zephyr. He also has another separate group of Pre-Clovis unifacial blades and tools from the same ancient Texas sites that will be incorporated into the later listings. Each artifact is marked with its price, either directly on the piece, or just off to the side. Note that a 6” ruler is shown on the left side of each frame. Our inventory number, shown on the bottom left of each photo (CAJ.A thru CAJ.L) identifies the specific frame in which an artifact falls. To further identify the artifact (if the number on the small white label is not legible), simply count the rows down from the top of the frame (there are never more than 3 rows in a frame) and then the number of the specific point counted from the left side of the frame. For instance, to identify the last triangular point on the right in the bottom row of frame CAJ.A, it would be described as CAJ(A)R2N7. Upon request, I can send a larger photo of any one (or all) of the frames for a more detailed and clearer viewing. Just request the photo(s) by the frame inventory number. Any point sold will be so indicated directly on its photo. Select or ask any question by referring first to the Trocadero Item Number on this page, and then to either the number in the white tag located on the point or to the Row and Number as described above. With a purchase comes a biographical write-up about Cas Jamroz and his collection, a map of Texas highlighting the general area in which the points were found, and our certificate guaranteeing authenticity. NOTE: if you would like to view a large number of our various listings, and at the same time limit your browsing, try our ‘TWELVE different items on a single page format’ by simply spelling out the word TWELVE in the search box. That will quickly bring up all of our listings that have twelve different items on a page, each individually priced! | |||||||||||||||
