TWELVE ESKIMO CARVINGS AND SCRIMSHAW: GROUP K
The seven pieces in this ‘group of twelve’ are all carvings and scrimshaw done by Eskimo artists (BB223-229). From the estate of the late Billy Branch of Denver, each individual photo illustrates a different and independently priced piece. Included in the scrimshaw group are: a walrus buckle, a Captain Ahab plaque, and an elk-head cab. In the carved group: two polar bears, a walrus, and a ram head pendant. Inexpensive pieces for the collector of Eskimo art, each photo is annotated with the following information. First, in brackets, is the unique inventory number of the illustrated item. Next is a brief description. Following that, and not necessarily in this order, are approximate age, size in inches, and any hallmark or maker’s mark. The price is shown last. Refer to any item by using first the Trocadero Item Number noted on this page, and then the inventory number of the piece as shown in brackets on its photo. Upon request, we’ll be glad to answer questions and/or send additional photos for any of the pieces. NOTE: if you would like to view a large number of our various listings, and at the same time limit your browsing, try our ‘TWELVE different items on a single page format’ by simply spelling out the word TWELVE in the search box. That will quickly bring up all of our listings that have up to twelve different items on a page, each individually priced!
