LARGE TURQUOISE PENDANT WITH SILVER KOKOPELLI
If you’re looking for ‘stunning’, this spectacular, mid-20th century necklace (BB174) from the collection of Denver’s late Billy Branch might just fit the bill. The silver-backed pendant, 4” long from top of bale to its rounded bottom, carries a thick, teardrop shaped, natural blue, polished turquoise cab noted by Branch to be from the Pilot Mountain mine in northern Nevada. Overlapping one edge is a solid silver image of the ancient flute-playing Kokopelli, mystical figure of the prehistoric Southwest, with a minimal reputation of being magician, trickster, and seducer of maidens. Stamped on the bottom with a ‘J’ over ‘Sterling’, the pendant is suspended on a 24” strand of hollow, two-piece, disk-shaped silver beads that are terminated with silver cones stamped ‘RT © STERLING’. This impressive necklace, ready to wear or display, is in excellent condition, and comes with a small display card, a biographical sketch about Branch, and a certificate guaranteeing that the necklace is Native American in origin. We plan to soon have listed a total of some 150 items from the Billy Branch jewelry collection, so please check back often. NOTE: if you would like to view a large number of our various listings, and at the same time limit your browsing, try our ‘TWELVE different items on a single page format’ by simply spelling out the word TWELVE in the search box. That will quickly bring up all of our listings that have twelve different items on a page, each individually priced!
