| Almost a companion to the basket noted in this catalog as BB68 but without handles, this used, 17 ¾” tall Jicarilla storage basket (BB69) also dates into the late 1800s. The geometric design of this basket, though somewhat different in form than the one used on BB68, has also suffered from exposure and is now distinctly visible only on the inside of the basket. With a fair amount of weft loss and coil separation just below the rim in one area, this basket too must be graded at about a 6. Rod-coiled and sturdy, the basket still displays reasonably well and makes a good used example of the type. From the estate of Denver’s Billy Branch, the basket comes with a small display card, a map highlighting the area of the Jicarilla Apache, and our certificate guaranteeing authenticity.
