| Measuring 22 ¾” from the top of its loop wrist cord to the tip of its leather end, this tightly wrapped, dyed horsehair quirt (TEH.F3.3) is from the estate of the late Chester Howard. Howard had glued the quirt into one of his decorative frames, and there was no information as to its origin, or whether it had been Indian made, or perhaps prison made. In excellent condition and believed to date into the mid-20th century, the quirt comes with a small display card and a biographical write-up about Howard. We’re pleased to announce that we’ll be adding many more items from this great and diverse collection including: Native American textiles, beadwork, pottery; Pre-Columbian pottery, artifacts, beads, figurines; some 2700+ merchant, Indian Trading, Military, Hacienda tokens; a great assortment of picturesque and decorative artifact frames that Howard had professionally constructed to house many of his treasures; and much more. NOTE: if you would like to view a large number of our various listings, and at the same time limit your browsing time, try our ‘TWELVE different items on a single page format’ by simply spelling out the word TWELVE in the search box.
