| This brightly beaded 26 ½” x 4 ¼” floral strip or belt (TEH.F9.2) is from the estate of the late Chester Howard. Previously glued into a decorative frame with insoluble glue, the strip was noted by Howard to have been acquired in Montana and was either Crow or Northern Cheyenne in origin. Dating into the mid-20th century and in overall good condition with just 18 or so white seed beads missing along one row, the backing is a black cloth with print design illustrating blond-headed children at play and the words “the harvesters, a rowlett original on Chama fabric”. The back fabric is stained and a little stiffness remains where the glue was applied. This highly decorative piece would make an eye-catching display in an elongated frame. It comes with a small display card, a biographical write-up about Howard, and a certificate guaranteeing authenticity. We’re pleased to announce that we’ll be adding many more items from this great and diverse collection including: Native American textiles, beadwork, pottery; Pre-Columbian pottery, artifacts, beads, figurines; some 2700+ merchant, Indian Trading, Military, Hacienda tokens; a great assortment of picturesque and decorative artifact frames that Howard had professionally constructed to house many of his treasures; and much more. NOTE: if you would like to view a large number of our various listings, and at the same time limit your browsing time, try our ‘TWELVE different items on a single page format’ by simply spelling out the word TWELVE in the search box.
