| This nicely decorated 5” x 6 ½” beaded bag (TEH.F31.1) is from the Chester Howard collection. The flexible hide, soiled but in overall good condition, has some residual traces of glue that was used by Howard to attach the bag to a decorative frame. There are a few loops of beads missing along one edge at the top of the bag, a few missing along one side just below the drawstring, and a small patch of glue on the inside at the top of the bag where a daub had been applied by Howard to keep the bag from drooping open in the shadow box frame. Noted to be Apache in origin by Howard, the bag dates from the early to mid-20th century. It comes with a small display card, a biographical sketch about Howard, and our certificate guaranteeing authenticity. We’re pleased to announce that we’ll be adding many more items from this great and diverse collection including: Native American textiles, beadwork, pottery; Pre-Columbian pottery, artifacts, beads, figurines; some 2700+ merchant, Indian Trading, Military, Hacienda tokens; a great assortment of picturesque and decorative artifact frames that Howard had professionally constructed to house many of his treasures; and much more. NOTE: if you would like to view a large number of our various listings, and at the same time limit your browsing time, try our ‘TWELVE different items on a single page format’ by simply spelling out the word TWELVE in the search box.
