TWELVE KUNA INDIAN MOLAS, SAN BLAS ISLANDS

This colorful group of hand made molas (AK140 thru AK151) came from blouses made and worn by the Kuna Indians of San Blas Islands off the coast of Panama. Probably all made in the late 20th century, not one is thought to date earlier than 1990. Each in very good cleaned but un-ironed condition, all have the typical somewhat rough and unfinished edges where visible layering can be easily determined. Great pieces for framing, each one is unique. Individually available and priced, each photo shows first the inventory number in brackets for the illustrated mola, then a brief description of the subject matter, followed by the length and width from edge to edge in inches (note that the photos have been cropped to hide the rough edges), the number of visible layers, and lastly the price. Select or ask any question by referring first to the Trocadero Number on this page, and then the Inventory Number shown on the given photograph. Any that have been sold will be so-marked on the appropriate photo. A purchase comes with a map of Central America highlighting the area in which the Kuna live. NOTE: if you enjoy this ‘TWELVE different items on a single page format’, and would like to see all the different categories that we currently list by this method in our catalog, spell out the word TWELVE in the search box and it will bring them all up. It’s a great way to limit you browsing time!
