| The photos on this page present twelve Pre-Columbian ‘Little People’ (LLL694, LLL737, LLL740, LLL748, LLL751, LLL825, LLL860, LLL889, LLL938, LLL977, LLL993, and LLL1012) from the Pre-Classic Colima horizon of West Mexico dating c.300BC-300AD. All from the collection of the late Lynn Langdon, the figurines were found in the mid-20th century. Most were found with some degree of damage (so noted), and Langdon had those repaired (so noted) by local artisans during his annual visits to the area. Represented are male, female, clothed and naked, usually adorned with some type of jewelry or head cover, and each in a somewhat different pose. The photos show frontal views of the figures, below which are noted first their Inventory Numbers (in brackets) and then size and brief description, followed by condition, and finally price. A fascinating and fun group to browse through, each was hand modeled, not cast, in ancient times. Any that have been sold will be so-marked on the appropriate photo. A purchase comes with a small display card, a biographical sketch about the collector Langdon, a map of Mexico highlighting the general area in which the figures were found, and a certificate guaranteeing authenticity.
