| This small bi-colored figurine (CH1024), sometimes called a ‘cochimilco’, is from the collection of the late Carrol Howe, well-known amateur archaeologist from Klamath Falls, Oregon, whose interests in ancient cultures ranged far beyond his beloved lands of the ancient Modoc and Klamath Indians. This crudely molded and rather primitively painted 3” tall figure is attributed to the Chancay horizon of Peru, c.1100-1400AD. In excellent condition without restoration of any type, the little guy, bedecked with beaded necklace, comes with a small display card, a biographical sketch about the popular Howe, a map of Peru on which the Chancay area has been highlighted, and a certificate guaranteeing authenticity. | |||||
