Navajo Changing Woman Pictorial Rug, Branch Coll.
This handsomely designed Navajo rug (BB.N513), measuring 61” x 91”, displays opposing images of the ‘Changing Woman’, the Navajo deity who could alter her appearance as the seasons changed. Depicted as a young fertile maiden during the spring and summer, she became an old woman during the fall and winter. Dating c.1925, and in overall very good condition, the rug is graded a strong 9 with only minor use spotting. From the estate of the late Bill Branch of Denver, Colorado, it comes with a small display card, our certificate guaranteeing authenticity and a biographical sketch of Mr. Branch. Select or ask any question by referring to either the Trocadero Item Number in the upper left portion of this page, or to this item’s unique Inventory Number, BB.N513. Note: if you would like to view an even larger number of our various listings, and at the same time limit your browsing time, try our popular ‘TWELVE different items on a single page format’ by simply spelling out the word TWELVE in the search box. That will quickly bring up all of our listings that have twelve different items on a page, each individually priced! And if you want to further refine the group, add one or two additional modifiers at the same time such as ‘Indian, Precolumbian, Stone, Pot, Gold, etc.’ All items in the groups of twelve that have been sold will be so noted on their individual photographs.
