This colorful and striking group of twelve offers 11 items (RFM 63-69, & 71-74) collected at tribal villages along the Sepik River in New Guinea in the mid-1980s and one piece (RFM 70) purchased at an ethnographic shop along the 'Khlong' River in Bangkok, Thailand in the same period. From a Denver area collection, all the New Guinea pieces were appraised and certified in July of 2007 by a local member of the American Society of Appraisers, copy of which will be provided to the buyer. ...click for details

The top of this early celluloid/bakelite jewelry box (MRWK393) is 3 ¼” in diameter and the round, satin-bottomed box that it covers is 2 7/8” across. The striking little box has a light lemon colored bottom and a black top. The bottom of the black cover has a circular groove that ‘locks’ it to the ribbed, ivory colored center. This attractive Six-Figured Navajo Yei rug (BB.N444) is another hand-woven textile from the collection of Denver’s late Bill Branch. Measuring 56” x 78”, it features the ever-present cornstalk and a handful of feathered arrows in the hands of each of the images.
