This 6” x 3” stamped envelope (FP1136) is addressed to “Mrs. John S. Titcomb, Platte Canon, Jefferson Co., Colorado”. The two-cent US stamp was hand cancelled on August 15, 1880 with the Fort Fetterman, Wyo. Ter. postal mark, only 14 years after the ill-fated Fetterman Massacre occurred farther north on the Bozeman Trail and on the east side foothills of the Big Horn Mountains.
