This 12 5/8” long, 8 ½ pound cast bronze canon (TEH119) was purchased in Morelia, Mexico in 1960 by the late Chester Howard, adventurer, collector, and founder of the Colorado Mineral Society in 1936. This lot of four relics (FP925) was found at the oil boomtown of Salt Creek, Wyoming (1912-1923). Only faint remains of this once energized town can be found today. The streets teemed with tool-pushers, roughnecks, wildcatters, and corporate engineers as the great Salt Creek Anticline north of Casper was prospected and developed. In fair to good relic condition, the group includes an unglazed china doll marked 'Made in Japan'. The group comes with a small historical card and a map of Wyo ...click for details
