This 8 ½” tall, geometrically painted, ancient polychrome ceramic jar (GLC483) is from the Gene Lang collection. Intact with a small rim chip and significant loss of paint, the bowl shows nicely from one side, and poorly from the other. Lang identified this as a Banshan type from the Gansu-Yang culture dating c.2655-2330BC. The loss of paint could be corrected with professional restoration.
