Each of the twelve individually priced prehistoric Indian artifacts in this group (AXH66.4, 5, 8, 10, 13, 21, 25, 26, 34, 36, 41, and 44) were once attached to a frame with Elmer’s glue that had been assembled from finds in Louisiana made by the late Dr. Allen Heflin. Included in the group are what I believe to be the following point types: Boggy River Type II, Burkett, Evans, Gary, Marcos, Midland, and Savannah River. Heflin marked all of the points on one side in black ink with the provenance, ...click for details

$2750.00

The late Gene Lang of Denver purchased this 9 ¾” wide prehistoric Indian bowl (GL591) from the Chris Robinson collection (Chris, according to Lang, played a major part in a TV soap opera). Typed as a Mimbres Black-on-White and dating c.975-1150AD, the bowl is attributed to the Mogollon sub-group and was originally found in New Mexico. Glued together with minor restoration, the bowl has a ‘kill’ hole in its bottom center. With a reverse image geometric design, the bowl displays very nicely, altho ...click for details

Believed to be from the Williams Ranch collection, south of Quemado, New Mexico, Lang purchased the pots to restore them but was not able to complete the job. Most have been simply glued together with little restoration, and are usually missing a few shards. Each photo is noted first with the Inventory Number of ...click for details

This late 19th to early 20th century Northern Plains Indian pipe bag (TEH.F2.1) is from the late Chester Howard collection and measures about 22 ½” in length as shown in the first photograph on this page. Any quillwork that may have existed at the bottom of the bag has been trimmed. The beads (mostly glass with some faceted brass) are sinew sewn and the impressive and bold beadwork patterns in the lower half of the bag are in very good condition, although with some embedded grime. The leather in ...click for details

$2750.00

Though exhibiting a strong ‘polychrome’ appearance, this handsome, 7 ¼” tall, geometrically designed prehistoric Native American pot (RLK5) started off as a Mimbres black-on-white canteen dating c.975-1150AD, but when introduced into the ancient firing kiln, the black mineral paint oxidized resulting in the attractive brownish red variegations that appear in the contrasting black field. Competently restored after being found in the mid-20th century in the Mogollon sub-group area of the southwes ...click for details

$1600.00

An impressive 11 ¾” in height and approximately 12 ½” in diameter, this long-necked olla (GLC507) is from the Gene Lang estate. Glued together with no significant restoration and the cracks untouched, the piece was typed by Lang as a Gila Plain dating c.300-1345AD from the Salado sub-group in Arizona. This is an inexpensive olla that would make a great decorator on a high shelf or nook and a great ‘type’ piece. It comes with a small display card, a grapevine ring to set the bowl upon, a release ...click for details

$2500.00

As is typical in many excavated prehistoric Native American pots, this interesting example of a Mimbres ‘picture’ bowl (RLK4), dating c.975-1150AD, has undergone a significant amount of restoration. Found on private lands in the mid-20th century within the Mogollon sub-group area of the southwestern U.S., the 7 5/8” wide bowl was first glued together from about 8 pieces and then the remaining missing area was rebuilt (about 25% of the total, representing most of one side and part of the bottom). ...click for details
