This massive, 18” tall male figurine (BB14) rests a large ball against his right shoulder while holding it in his cupped right hand. Intently staring ahead in preparation to throw the ball, he is decorated with elaborate ear ornaments, a nose ring, and a band around his neck representing a necklace. Standing naked, his powerful body striped with what probably represents tattooing, and with plaited hair, the figure is attributed to the Nayarit horizon of west Mexico dating c.300BC-300AD.
